August 22 is our final night for Sustainability on TAP at Throwbacks Bar and Grill. Join us at 6:30 for our program – It’s Electric. Our speaker tonight will be Dan Riggle from Schneider Electric. Schneider Electric has been hired by the Delran Board of Education to implement energy improvements designed to make our schools more efficient and save money. He’ll also share information on Clean Energy Programs available for homeowners and renters. We hope this talk with spark residents to consider low cost energy improvements.
Have you wondered why bees swarm? Who picks the queen? Whether all bees sting? Where honey come from? Join the Delran Green Team on Monday August 15 at Throwbacks Bar and Grill at 6:30. We’ve invited Bob Hughes, past president of the New Jersey BeeKeepers Association to our Sustainability on TAP. He’ll explain the Secret Life of Bees and you’ll get to taste some local honeys. Don’t want to miss this family friendly program.

Up next for Sustainability on TAP is Mike Haberland, Environmental and Resource Management Agent with the Cooperative Extension of Burlington County. His area of expertise is water quality management. Join us at 6:30pm on August 8 at Throwbacks Bar and Grill to learn how you can save money by harvesting rain water for outdoor water use. We’ll have rain barrel kits for sale. We’ll explain about the rain garden installation at Millbridge Elementary School. I’m sure you’ll be singing in the rain by the end of the evening.
Join the Delran Green Team for Sustainability on Tap at Throwbacks Bar and Grill. On August 1, we have lined up two speakers for “Public Works and Playgrounds”. First up, at 6:30pm will be Jerry DeSanto, Delran Township’s Recycling Coordinator and Superintendent of Public Works. Learn about our recycling efforts and how you can be a better recycler. At 7:15, will hear from Arthur Ashton, Executive Director for “Build Jake’s Place”. Delran’s Community Park is the second location planned for Jake’s Place Boundless Playground. This is a great opportunity to hear about the plans for this playground and how you can get involved.
